　The Japanese Language Institute of Sapporo makes a daily effort by the entire staff to be a friendly and understandable organization with each every country, in order to help our young students realize their dreams.

Although Sapporo is a major city of 1.85 million people, it is a beautiful place, rich with nature. The four seasons are clearly differentiated, where you can enjoy the cherry blossoms in Spring, the green in Summer, the colored leaves in Autumn and the white snow in Winter. It is in the center of this big city that you can study in beautiful, quiet, residential surroundings.

Our dream is that our students learn of various worlds through this valuable experience in Sapporo, to fulfill each of their hopes and dreams after graduation. We wish that many of the graduates from the Japanese Language Institute of Sapporo take this experience and extend it all over the world, to take the ideas and thoughts brought about in Sapporo and extend that too, all over the world. For I believe that even the smallest desires of individuals can create strong bonds, thus contributing to world peace.

The Japanese Language Institute of Sapporo has been kept strong and developing since its establishment in 1986, thanks to the wonderful support of many people. We strive to keep this feeling of gratitude, to never forget the hopes we hold since our establishment, and among continuing to make an effort in sharing the great things of Sapporo with many people, we strive to become an even better organization for all.

Former Principal, Motoi Kazuo

　Former Principal Mr. Motoi Kazuo established the Japanese Language Institute of Sapporo in 1986. He studied abroad in Australia and found that coming in contact with different cultures widens one's views, deepens the understanding of one’s own culture, and fosters a global point of view. These are the values upon which the Japanese language institute of Sapporo has been founded upon.

Although the beginning was difficult as many foreigners came with the purpose of working instead of studying, by introducing a thorough interview before entering Japan, it was settled. Thanks to confirming the students’ Japanese education history, purpose of stay and economical situation, the school was able to gain approval from the Association of Promoting Japanese Language Education. As a result, in 1990 the Japanese Language Institute of Sapporo was recognized by Sapporo Immigration Bureau as meeting the standards for a “Proper Japanese Education Facility.”

Now about 180 students from over 28 countries study at the Japanese language Institute of Sapporo.

In order to answer the high expectations, as well as settle the uneasiness of our students from all over the world, the whole staff to this day follow the will of former principal Mr. Motoi, to provide the highest The spirit of former Mr. Motoi that we have to provide the highest educational environment for all. We hope that you may do your best with your studies to reach your goals, and live an enjoyable life, in this beautiful and convenient city of Sapporo.
